Spill the tea, Meg.

When partnering with a therapist, it’s important to feel connected on an “oh-you-really-get-this” level, while simultaneously holding different lived experiences and intersectionalities.

This is who I am (for now):

I am a white, queer, non-binary, neurodivergent, quick-witted, sensory-sensitive, notices and feels-it-all human.

I am an artist, distance runner, reader, plant lover, and intellectual being. Believer in romanticizing the mundane and creating glimmers of joy through color, design, play, and connection.

Slow mornings listening to music and sipping coffee makes me whole. Lawnmowers, the slipperiness of lotion, texture of velvet, and water falling down my arm while doing the dishes makes me rage.

I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, students, teachers, athletes, creatives, queer and trans folx, & people w/sensory needs, ADHD, Autism, and giftedness traits.

Let me tell you a story.

  • I was born & raised in North Dakota.

Childhood founder of the infamous “stop-drop-and-roll” sensory overload meltdown performances at my family’s dining room table, nicknamed “megaphone” for my loud and bold presence - I was a spirited, creative, fast-paced being with a vivid imagination from the beginning.

Athlete, musician, student leader, perfectionist, identity-confused, anxious, competitive, class clown.

  • I attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

I changed my major three times because I was interested in too many things to make a decision (pre-med to music education to elementary education). Identity confusion 2.0.

Highlight: Three years of singing and touring in the Concordia Choir!

  • My first career: Teacher & Volleyball Coach

I taught a variety of subjects and grade levels in different schools in MN. I was a middle school math, science, social studies, and health teacher for the majority of my teaching career. Math was my favorite subject to teach! I coached high school, middle school, and club volleyball.

  • After years of deliberation, I decided to follow my dream to be a therapist!

I started the Master of Social Work (MSW) program at St. Kate’s in St. Paul, MN.

My foundation internship was at YouthLink in downtown Minneapolis, providing services/resources for young people experiencing homelessness.

  • I continued with the St. Kate’s MSW program and started my clinical internship/training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy at Minnesota Center for Psychology in St. Paul, MN.

I provided individual and group DBT to adults and general individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults.

  • I graduated with an MSW degree from St. Kate’s.

I started as an independent contractor for Minnesota Center for Psychology and began working at Relate Counseling Center in Minnetonka, MN as an outpatient and school-based therapist for adolescents and adults.

  • Abundance was born!
